“Bhakti, maryada aur adarsh jeevan ka amrit granth – Shri Ramcharitmanas”
Shri Ramcharitmanas, composed by Goswami Tulsidas ji in the 16th century, is one of the most revered scriptures in Hinduism. Written in Awadhi language, it is a poetic retelling of the life, virtues, and divine journey of Lord Shri Ram, the embodiment of dharma, compassion, and ideal living.
Spiritual Significance
- Considered a Bhakti Granth, it emphasizes devotion (bhakti) over ritualism
- Offers deep insights into dharma (righteousness), karma (duty), and mukti (liberation)

Structure of the Ramcharitmanas
The epic is divided into seven kānds (sections):
- Bāl Kānd – Birth and childhood of Shri Ram
- Ayodhya Kānd – Preparations for coronation and exile
- Aranya Kānd – Forest life and Sita’s abduction
- Kishkindha Kānd – Alliance with Hanuman and Sugriv
- Sundar Kānd – Hanuman’s journey to Lanka (most recited section)
- Lanka Kānd – War with Ravan and victory of dharma
- Uttar Kānd – Return to Ayodhya and Shri Ram’s rule
